Fishing is a favorite pastime at Húsafell — from rivers leaping with salmon to trout-filled lakes.
Fishing at Húsafell is something that everyone can enjoy, from seasoned sportsmen to the youngest beginners.
The spectacular Arnarvatnsheiði area of the highlands is home to many lakes full of trout, and the nearest lake, Hólmavatn, is accessible without a 4x4 vehicle (which is not the case for other fishing spots). Many eager anglers are drawn to the the great salmon river Norðlingafljót or try their luck with a fishing expedition to the Hvítá glacier river, which holds both trout and salmon.
It is strictly forbidden to fish in Iceland without first obtaining permission from the land owners.
