Winter Safari: 4 Days

No place else does winter like Iceland! Discover the best of the west during Northern Lights Season.

Winter Safari: 4 Days

Explore lava caves and ice caves, visit the magical Snæfellsness peninsula and soak in a geothermal pool while the Northern Lights dance overhead.

Day one: Húsafell, West Iceland

Land at Keflavík International Airport and transfer to Hotel Husafell in West Iceland. On your way make sure to visit the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfall duo just six minutes from our hotel.

After check-in (don’t forget to request your free Northern Lights wake-up call) experience a truly authentic Icelandic tradition by relaxing in the hotel’s outdoor geothermally heated swimming pools while filling your lungs with the clean, crisp Arctic air.

In the evening if the Northern Lights make an appearance, request access to the pool for the ultimate aurora viewing experience.

Day two: Into the Ice & Lava

Iceland is known as the land of fire and ice and nowhere is this contrast seen more clearly than in Húsafell's volcanic features and glaciers. On this outing you'll explore beneath the surface of a glacier and beneath the Earth’s surface in a massive lava cave. Travel by monster glacier truck to Langjökull Glacier and explore the world’s largest man-made ice cave. From ice to fire, your next adventure will be a descent into the dark and dazzling underworld of a subterranean volcanic lava tube called Víðgelmir, Iceland's largest lava cave.

Day three: SnÆfellsnes Peninsula

Uncover the countless natural wonders on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula where you'll discover seal coves, rugged seascapes, dazzling cliff formations , rare plants, birdlife and other wildlife. Visit the columnar basalt rock shoreline and cliffs swarming with huge colonies of birds at Arnarstapi and walk along the pebbled beach at Djúpalónssandur before driving along the North Coast through scenic fishing villages.

Throughout the day, enjoy the remote tranquility of the area and the majesty of Snæfellsjökull, which sits at the end of peninsula as its crowning jewel.

Day four: Krauma BATHS & Departure

After a hearty breakfast bid a fond farewell to Hotel Húsafell and make your way to the newly opened Krauma Nature Baths located only 30 minutes away in Reykholt, West Iceland. Krauma is a world-class wellness complex that features two saunas, a tranquility chamber and five outdoor nature baths fed by Europe's most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver.

The drive to Keflavík International Airport is approximately two and a half hours from West Iceland.

Please note

Subject to availability.

Although the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore their appearance cannot be guaranteed, chances of sightings increase by staying 3-4 nights under the clear, dark night skies at Húsafell away from light pollution.

Both the ice cave and lava cave tours are subject to changes in the itinerary and mode of transport and are subject to cancelation depending on weather and road conditions and other circumstances beyond the tour operator's control.
