Usually, dogs are not allowed in Hotel Húsafell but we accept guide dogs for guests depends on them.

All areas of the hotel are non-smoking. This includes the disposal of ash or cigarette buts within indoor wastebins. Guests in breach of this policy are subject to an extra cleaning charge of EUR500 per instance.

We accept American Express, Visa, Euro/MasterCard, Diners Club and Maestro. A credit card, including type, number and expiration date, is required to confirm your booking.

In order to avoid a cancelation fee, reservations for individuals must be canceled at least 48 hours before arrival. Cancellations received after that time and no-shows will be charged the value of one night on the credit card used to confirm the booking. For group reservations (5 rooms or more), other cancelation policies apply. Please contact the hotel for further information.

Yes, we operate a tour desk manned by knowledgable staff where hotel guests can get information on activities in the area and book excursions.

Lindin/The Springs is a geothermal public pool complex including hot tubs next to the hotel, entrance fee is payable at the pool reception. Please note the pools are public and are popular with guests in holiday homes and the campsite as well as hotel guests.

It is possible to rent swimming costumes and towels for a small fee.

Opening hours are seasonal.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant dining room from 07:30 to 10:30 in winter (October - May) and 7:00 to 10:00 in summer (June - September).

The restaurant is open from 12:00 to 14:00 for lunch (except in June, July and August) and reopens from 18:00 to 21:00 for dinner service. Happy Hour daily between 16:00 - 18:00.

Wireless Internet is free for guests at the hotel.

Driving directions from Keflavík International Airport (about 2 hours 20 minutes drive to Húsafell):

  • Start by following directions to Reykjavík, route 41, leading through the suburbs of Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær and Kópavogur.
  • Once in Reykjavík, at the major intersection with route 1 (Miklabraut road) take a right turn towards the town of Mosfellsbær
  • Follow the instructions below towards to Húsafell.

Driving directions from Reykjavík (about 1 hour 40 minutes drive to Húsafell):

  • Head northwest through Mosfellsbær on route 1.
  • After the Hvalfjörður tunnel, turn right towards Borgarnes on route 1.
  • Before crossing the large causeway that leads to Borgarnes, turn right towards Reykholt / Húsafell on route 50.
  • Follow route 50. Continue straight and the road becomes route 518 through Reykholt and on to Húsafell. Total traveling distance from Reykjavík is around 130 km.
