Stake out your own corner of paradise by pitching your tent or parking your camper in the shady birch forest of the Húsafell grounds — only a short walk from the swimming pool, golf course, playground, shop and restaurant.
On Saturdays in the summer we light our community bonfire for all to sit around and enjoy. Seventy of our camping spots are equipped with electrical hook-ups configured for a European standard plug and socket. There is also a bathroom service building on site with restrooms, showers, hot and cold water taps as well as basic facilities for cooking and laundry.
There is also another, more remote campsite situated in the beautiful Reykjafellskógur wilderness area, about two kilometers from the Húsafell campsite.
From June to the end of August weekly activities are organized for the whole family.
* The guided Saga Hike visits several notable sites in the area including the ghost patch, the goat shed ruins, the church and the artwork of Páll Guðmundsson in Bæjargil canyon. The walk takes about one hour.
** On Saturdays the Nature Hike ventures into the to the brooks and waterfalls in Oddar. The walk takes about 1.5 hours.
We had an amazing time at Husafell. Beautiful location with so much to do- hikes, relaxing in geothermal baths, short trips to the caves and glacier... we couldn't do it all in 2 days.
High quality does not begin to cover this place. We had the most fabulous trip to Hotel Húsafell whilst we were in Iceland. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and the owner should be incredibly proud of its staff as the service we received was absolutely impeccable.
