Enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime as we journey up the white slopes and go deep inside the man-made ice tunnels leading to the blue heart of the glacier. We will ride in modified glacier vehicles specially made to explore the glacier environment and enjoy the view as we drive on top of the ice cap. Experienced guides will lead the way and make sure that everyone is both enjoying themselves and learning the basics of glacier science.

Mountain road 550, which connects both Húsafell and Thingvellir National Park to Klaki base camp is a rough gravel road suitable ONLY for 4X4 vehicles and is only open during from June to mid-October when the weather allows. This road should absolutely only be attempted by experienced drivers operating 4x4 vehicles.

Otherwise, please take the shuttle from Húsafell if you do not have a 4X4 vehicle to reach Klaki base camp. The shuttle ride takes approximately 40 minutes and costs ISK 2,000 round trip.

Because mountain road 550 is CLOSED from mid October through May, all guests will need to take the shuttle from Húsafell. The shuttle ride takes approximately 40 minutes.
